PACS Pro27 Earplugs: Custom Hearing for High-noise Environments
The PACS PRO27 earplug is a breakthrough in high-noise filtering. PACS Pro27’s give you an almost flat reduction of around 23dB through the low and mid-range frequencies so that you maintain situational awareness and your ability to communicate, but can still be comfortable in very loud environments. In the higher frequencies, the PACS PRO27 gives you a stark jump in hearing protection, offering up to 35dB where you need it most so you can carry on working or enjoying your passion in safety. With an average attenuation of 27dB, the PACS PRO27 can increase your safe exposure time by up to 9 times.
The PACS Pro27 is small, Comfortable and Fit Snugly
The PACS PRO filter series has been designed anew with the wearer in mind. For starters, it’s smaller than many competing filters, meaning that it can fit into smaller ears without any protrusion, which is great for both comfort and aesthetics because it will always fit snugly underneath a helmet or other head wear. The filters are also removable, so you can clean and maintain your ear moulds and your filters – giving you the maximum life and the best value for money from your plugs. In addition, the PACS PRO series are water-resistant, so they can be used outside or in high moisture environments and can withstand perspiration without it damaging the filter membrane.
A Natural Sounding Earplug without the Occlusion
Trying to create a natural sounding earplug is no mean feat as far as your voice is concerned. As you may have experienced, when you block off your ear canal, your voice starts to boom inside your head (this is what we call occlusion). This is caused by sound that is carried to your ear canal through the cartilage at the side of your head, which usually escapes through the open ear canal so is not heard. When we block off the canal, this sound cannot escape and so creates that booming effect. A large amount of occlusion can be eliminated by ensuring that the earplug sits deep enough into the ear canal to extend past the cartilage. This ensures that the sound hits the plug and is deadened rather than entering the canal at all. The PACS PRO filters go one step further by being vented to allow sound to pass both ways, meaning that remaining sound can escape directly through the filter, providing one of the most natural sounding earplugs available.

FILTER EXCHANGE: If you find the filters you have chosen are not suited to your use, we will exchange them for a different type. Simply contact us to return your filters to us, and on receipt, we will send the replacement pair of filters that you have selected. The PACS Pro27 filter is only interchangeable with the PACS Pro31 filter. If you like a different option, please contact us before you send the filters to us. This free of charge exchange can only be actioned once, only when the filters are still in new condition and within 30 days of receipt of your order.

I had them taken a mould from my ears at a fitting point. The technician took her time to make the best impression she could make of my ears. The result is really good, I wear them in comfort all day 8 hours. They fit well so there is no sound leakage and the filters do an amazing job of reducing the unwanted noise and still allow me to communicate in an industrial noise environment. As they filter out the harsh noise it allows me to focus on my welding and therefore reduce mental fatigue after a day of welding. I am very happy with the product. The cord is a good addition although when it rubs on your clothing you get to hear that resonating through the ear mould. The earplugs were delivered to me in a week. Tom B

I was interested in these earplugs as an alternative to earmuffs as I work in very hot and humid conditions. Earmuffs were uncomfortably hot and sweaty, plus wearing safety glasses under them compromised the fit to a degree. My factory environment is noisy and holding regular conversations is almost impossible without shouting.
The Pro 27 earplugs I’m now using have been a revelation on all fronts. More comfortable during my 12 hours shifts, cooler to wear, and wearing safety glasses doesn’t compromise the hearing protection. Plus hearing other peoples’ speech is much easier.
While offering Class 5 protection as did the earmuffs, by comparison the earplugs give a much more natural sound in the environment I work in. The earmuffs created a ‘dead’ sound that I didn’t appreciate until trying these.
Not only am I very happy with the product, dealing with customer service at Pacific Ears has been a pleasure. They were always very helpful with any questions I had, were great with their correspondence, and I was delighted with the speed of their service.

I can now proudly say I own two pairs of these custom ear plugs, the Pro17 and Pro27. I bought the Pro17s, and they have absolutely changed my life, making both DJing and attending concerts and festivals bearable. Unfortunately I enjoy being at the front where the volumes are exceptionally loud, and a 17 decibel reduction is not enough to spend 8 hours in a 110+dB environment, so I’ve got the Pro27s for long stints of loud exposure.
These plugs are an incredible product, they fit perfectly, and the sound quality is absolutely unaffected, I can not recommend them highly enough!

These earplugs have been a game changer since I got them. They cut down the road noise heaps on my bike, and although I was a little worried about the increased attenuation on high frequencies impacting the music from my cardo, it has sounded great, and the decreased wind noise lets me listen to it at a much quieter level.
Another bonus is that I can wear them in the office when I don’t want to hear all of the noise around me without seeming rude – has been really good to keep my focus this way. In terms of comfort level, they fit perfectly, and after getting used to the angle to insert them, I don’t need any of the included gel to get them in and out.
One note I would point out is that these filters aren’t interchangeable with most of the other filters (as in the description), so be sure that you are comfortable with this attenuation profile before buying, especially if you want a multi use set of plugs for bikes and concerts etc, as you might not be able to swap filters.
Great purchase, and the the team (I dealt with Fleur over email) were really helpful and very quick to respond to my questions. From the purchase on the site, I had the plugs within a week (including time for an audiologist appt) which was a big surprise – I will definitely be buying another set in time. Cheers!

At ASWEFA, four of us (three instructors and myself) use the PACS Pro 27, and they’ve made a noticeable difference in our training on machines at work. We operate in high-noise industrial environments and across a wide range of sites delivering machinery training and licensing. The PACS Pro 27 allows us to maintain clear communication while still getting all the protection you’d expect from traditional hearing protection like earmuffs or generic earplugs, without the downsides. They look professional, are extremely comfortable to wear for long periods, and don’t get in the way when working around machinery. Unlike standard earplugs, they don’t fall out easily and don’t become uncomfortable over a full day on site.
Previously, relying on the disposable earplugs provided to visitors on site was frustrating and inconsistent.
